L’École de Denver is committed to offering an equitable French Immersion program for students in Cycle 1 – Cycle 3. At each level, we blend the best of the French and American educational systems, gifting our students with deep bi-literacy, whole-child skills and knowledge, and a multi-cultural perspective.
“In this information age, language and culture are the new ‘soft’ware.”
Our school curriculum follows the guidelines of the French Ministry of Education and the Colorado Department of Education.
L’École provides a unique educational experience wherein students learn two languages and two cultures simultaneously. L’École incorporates the structure and rigor of the French educational system as well as the flexibility and creativity of the American system.
L’École is a small school with small class sizes. Classes are multi-grade and organized by French cycle:
- Cycle 1: Cycle des apprentissages premiers (La Maternelle)
- Cycle 2: Cycle des apprentissages fondamentaux (L’École Primaire)
- Cycle 3: Cycle de consolidation (L’École Primaire)
Instruction Language by Cycle:

Robust Remote Learning Plans: In the event we are unable to hold in-person classes, we have worked with curriculum experts to establish detailed plans for each grade level in order to ensure continuous learning throughout the school year. In addition, our teachers are actively training in using the necessary technology to implement these plans. Remote learning will incorporate daily live video instruction, a predictable weekly routine, centralized platform for families to track assignments, online learning exercises, physical materials that will arrive as part of your child’s customized “school in a box” kit and fun virtual events to boost your child’s sense of well-being and of belonging to a community.
The school day at L’École de Denver will begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The first day of school will be on August 24th.
NOTE: Dates may be subject to change depending upon governmental orders and approvals. We will communicate all changes to the calendar with families in a timely fashion.
Admissions has concluded for the 2020-2021 school year.
We do not require previous French language knowledge for students entering Cycle 1.
Starting in Cycle 2, all entering students will be evaluated to assess their proficiency in French. These students will be expected to be proficient (Level A2) in French. While our hope is to welcome all students, those with limited French proficiency will be required to demonstrate a commitment to becoming proficient in French as evidenced by courses taken, tutoring, etc. prior to the commencement of the academic year.
We are committed to offering an affordable French education.
